MURDER AND SUICIDE,
Received August 24, 10.30 a.m
SYDNEY, August 24. From Young, a town of between 3,000 and 4,000 inhabitants, pleasantly situated on the Burragong or Main Creek, 256 miles south-west of Sydney, comes' news of a sensational tragedy. It appears that a Miss Drummond made a call on a friend —Mrs Lillis.
Edward Lillis, who was in the house, called Miss Drummond aside, and fatally shot her, then blew out his own brains.
Some time ago Lillis proposed to Miss Drummond, but was rejected, and subsequently the girl became engaged to another suitor. The victims of the tragedy are members of prominent families.
