PICNIC TRAGEDY.
"TWO WOMEM SHOT WITH ONE BULLET. Two soldiers invited their sweet'hearts, two sisters, to spend the day with them on July sth, at Sainghin *'ort, near Lille (France). After picnicking o<i the grassy slopes the party went into the guardroom, where me of the men named Ledjux showed his sweetheart Caro- : line a Lebel cartii&ge. He then 30.-ided his rifle for fun, and aimed it i ;at the two girls, who clung together , iterror-stricken. i "Donf touch the rifle!" screamed Caroline, but suddenly there was a (huh, followed by a sharp report, and tb.3 two sisters fell deaJ. The same bullet had passed through both their headn. The two soldiers were arrestel, i and Lednux, who was mad with \ grief, tried several times to commit ; suicide. ]
