A boy named Eton, son of Mr E. G. Eton, of Masterton, broke one of his L>gs on Saturday while playing in the Gymnasium in Dixon Street. Mr A. E. Rees, retiring hon. general secretary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A., is to be tendered a farewell social at the Association rooms on Friday evening next, Mr D. E. Parton, of the Masterton Post Office staff, has received intimation of his promotion to the position of senior clerk at Taihape, for which place he will leave shortly. Mr Parton has been statio ied at Masterton for about eight y-.us, aial i.as identified himself with football, cricket, and other movements of a social character, and has a large circle of friends, who will itulate him o.i his advancement in tne service.
Mr G. H. Ralph, who has during the past eighteen months been Home Missioner in t'ie Ekctahuna district, and who will leave shortly t) take charge of Him Seamen's Mission at Auckland, was entertained >'t a social by the members of the Eketahuna Presbyterian Chu:c'i on Friday night. During the evenii g Mr Ralph was presented with a cheque as a token of the esteem in which he was held.
