SEQUEL TO A STRIKE.
A CHARGE OF AIDING AND ABETTING. Mr Andrew Collins, J.P., memb.r of the Conciliation board and general secretary to the Wellington Operative Bakers' Industrial Union of Workers, is to be prosecuted by the Labour Department before the Arbitration Court on Monday next on a charge of having aidtd and abetted the recent strike of operative bakers, says the "Post." He will be charged with a breach of the award of the Court of Arbitration in force in the Wellington industrial district, relating to tt.e bakery trade. The application for the enforcement, of the Act, dated the 30th June, alleges that whereas Andrew Collins, general secretary to the Wellington Operative Bakers' Industrial Union of Workers, he being a person on whom the said award is binding, has committed a breach of section If) of the Industrial Conciliation anil Arbitration Act Amendment Act, 1905, in that he has during the period from the 28th May, iyoß. to the date of the application, created, proposed, aided or abelt.d a strike or movement intended to produce a strike in the said bakrs' trade in the city of Wellington, the Inspector of Awards (Mr E. LeCren) applies to the court for the enforcement of the provisions of the above-mentioned Act against the said Andrew Collins. It is understood that Mr Wilford will appear on behalf of Mr Collins. About forty other persons will be prosecuted for alleged breaches of the award in the matter of the bakers' strike.
