WANGANUI v. SOUTHLAND. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WANGANUI, A.igust 19. The football match between Wawganui and Southland was played this afternoon. An interesting game resulted in a win for Wanganui by 10 points to six. The teams were fairly evenly matched, the Southland forwards if anything being better than Wanganui, especially in loose dribbling rushes. The backs were an even lot though the visitors were superior in line kicking. In the first spell Southland playing with the wind and sun at their backs had the best of the game. McNeece kicked two fine penalty goals. In the second spell the game was faiily even for a time, then Meuli and Mitchell each scored a try in good positions, both being converted.
