SHEARERS ACCOMMODATION BILL.
PALMERSrON NORTH PROTEST. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N , August 18. The A. and P. Association protes against the Shearers Accommodation Bill, as it would inflict graveyardships on sheep-owners, more especially those holding small flocks. It has been decioed to send a copy of the protest to the Premier, and urge the member for the District to oppose the Bill.
FALL OF EARTHA MAN KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 18.. By a fall of earth a man, named George Castler, working at the excavation at the new city reservoir at Cashmere Hills, was buried. He was dug out within tsn minutes, but life was extinct.
