A MYSTERIOUS KEY.
HUNT FOR A FORTUNE. , The family of August Konrad :are searching for securities worth ,£40,000 which are missing, says a New York paper. Konrad, who was a miser, was originally a clergyman, became a florist, and then made a large fortune ■out of gas in Tarry town. Ten years ago he informed his children that they must work for their living, as he should need the ■money he had mads for his old age. .Although Konrad had very large means, his children were obliged to work as dressmakers. Konrad became insane in October last, and died suddenly in a hospital at Poughkeepsie. He tried to reveal the whereabouts of his wealth, but .his speech failed and he was incoherent. He had three keys in his possession —one for the house and another for a trunk, and the third, which is the key of a safe, is numbered 103. It is by means of this key that the +JS&m\\v hope to recover the fortune. All the safe deposist have been visited without success, and .the ta:nily are 1 now advertising the facts i;i the hope that some light will be t'irjwn on tha mystery.
