HOCKEY.
WAIRARAPA v. NELSON. The following is the Nelson team to play Wairarapa, at Lansdowne, this afternoon: — Goalkeeper: A. Ryder (12). Full-backs: A. Croucia (15), C. Spear (10). Halves: G. King '8), J. Le Mottee, captain (7), F. Tayler (6). Forwards: J. Boyce, (5), A. Dee (9), M. Staples (3), A. Manxs (2), P. C. Hurst (1). The final match between Kia To a and High School teams in connection with the Ladies' Tournament will probably be played at Lansdowne, on Thursday, August 27th. As an additional attraction a North Wairarapa ladies v. South Wairarapa ladies' match could be arranged for the sama day. The various clubs are to be communicated with in regard to the playing of such a match. In connection with the Ladies' Tournament, to bo held shortly in Wellington, an effort should be made to send a team from Mastertsn to compete. From the Glengarry, Garry Owen, Huia and High School Clubs, a very strong team could be selected, and it is to bo hoped the local ladies' clubs will take the matter in ha::d.
