As a result of incidents occurring during a hostile street demonstration against Pearnley, a police agent, after judgment had been given in recent betting casei, L. Fowler (a borough councillor), M. Johonson (draper), and W. Stack (a consumptive invalid) have been each served with a summons to appear at the Napier Court to answer a charge that they did behave in a manner which might have caused a breach of the peace. It is understood that Stack takes proceedings against Inspector Macdonald for roughly handling him in the street without cause.
