♦ Received August]l3, 8.9 a.m. LONDON, August 12. Commenting on the State Treasurer's statement regarding the arrangements for the floating of the South Australian loan, "The Times" remarks: —"Certainly it is questionable whether a saving of ninepence per cent, justified the curious position the colony was placed in by the nonfulfilment of the original arrangements."
