—%. ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the annual report of the Pahiatua Racing Club:— In presenting their annual .report your Committee have pleasure in being able to put before you a bal-ance-sheet showing the best results the Club has yet attained. The receipts nhow a considerable increase, due to increases of nomination fees, members' subscriptions, totalisator turnover and bookmakers' fees. The expenditure shows an increase on ' that of last year, mainly due to improvements and maintenance. The Club really is on a better footing this year by about £4OO. In the assets the usual course has been fol--1 lowed of writing off heavily for rie- ' precia and the land, though 1 written. ..own at £1,675, is at present market prices worth more, the . foregoing being the upset pried two ; years ago. The farm account shows : a profit on the year's working of r £7B odd. Your Committee have undertaken the stumping of the centre of the course at a total cost of : £SO, of which £2O has been paid. 1 The matter of painting the paling ' fence round the grandstand enclosure should be considered by the incoming ' Committee. In accordance with the ! rules all the honorary officials retire, ' but are eligible for re-election.
