HOCKEY.
LADIES' TOURNAMENT
The clubs affiliated to the Wairarapa Ladies' Hockey Association will hold a seven a-side tournament at Lansdowne to-morrow. Seven teams have entered, and play will commence a*- 2.45 o'clock. Each game will consist of two spells of seven minutes each. If at the call of time neither side has scored the game will be continued until one side either obtains a goal or a corner hit, which will decide the match. The tournament will be played under the general rules of hockey, with the exception that a 'player to be on side must have two of her opponents be tween her and the goal. The following is the drawing for the first and second rounds: FIRST ROUND.
Gcury Uwen v. Glengarry; referee, Mr B. Iveson. KiaToa v. Huia A; referee, Mr B. fveson. High School v. Huia 15; referee, Mr F. Richards. Cartarton will play the losing team u\ t \n Garry Owen-Glengarry contest; reft) ee, Mr J. Gray. SECOND ROUND. Winners of No. 2 match will play winners of No. 3 match. . Winners of No. 1 match will play the winners of No. 4.
Tha following have been chosen to represent Wairarapa against Nelson
on Saturday next, at Lansdowne. The game will commence punctually at 1.30 p.m., owing to the visitors having to return to Wellington by the 3.30 train:—Goal, Hall (W.F.C.A.); fullbacks, Boyd (Knox), Morgan (Carterton); halves, Seivers (Carterton), Donald (Y.M.C A.; Richards (W.F.C.A.); wings, Hooper, right (Y.M.C.A.), Minett, left (W.F.C.A.); forwards, Gray (Knox), Fisher (Carterton), Rue (Y.M.C.A.); 12th man, Smith (W.F.C.A.) The visitors will be entertained by the members of the local team on Friday evening at the Arcadia Tea Rooms. All members of the above team are requested to be present.
