MEETING OF GENERAL COM MITTEE.
The first meeting of the new General Committee of the Masterlon A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon-. There were piesent —Messrs D. McGregor junr. (in Lie chair), E. Harper, 0. C. Cooper, J. D. Cruicksha::k, H. Morrison, J. C. McKillop, K. J. Dagg, a. J. Percy, T. P. Lett, Wrn. Perry, A. J. Stone-Wigg, Bland Kavner, A. G. Pilmer, W. E. Bidwill, W. D. VVatton, Jos. Morris, J. P. Perry, G. C. S-mmertll, J. Stranf, J. B. Moouie, W. H. Buiek, 0. Percy, W.J.Welch, J, E. Perry, D.j AntMaster and H. A. Matttiewa. Messrs Q. Donald, A. Donald, W. Cooper and C. F. valiance sent apologies for non-attendance. The Chairman made a short speech at the opening of business, congratulating tue South Wairarapa membeisof the Committee on being placed practically at ti.e top of the li,«t at the election, lie felt ture the same unanimity that had characterised the work of the Committee in the past would distinguish its deliberations in the future. Mr W. E. Bidwill made a shoit speech of thanks, in which he regretted havii.g tu sever his connection with tt.e Carterton Association after twenty yems 'connection witu it. Solway Show would, undoubtedly, be one of the leading Shows of toe Dominion, and he adviseo u.e Association to go ahead and popularise it in every way possible. The- following district representatives were appointed:—Te Nui, Mr J. A. Groves; le Wharau, Mr R. F. Beetham; Gladstone, Mr R. Gray; Porangahau, Mr Paul Hunter; Palmerston North, Mr S. R. Lancaster; Makuri, Mr W. E. C. Tylte; Wanganui, Mr G F. Moore; Wellington, Mr 1. bykes; Paniatua, Mr J. Sweeney; Lkeuhuna. Mr W. B. Matheson; Mai.gamahoe, Mr J. K Heckler; Whaiu.u.a ana Ei.sc Coast, Air H. U. Tuogtod. Sub-committees were elected is follows:—Ground: Messrs It. Grey, VV. D. Watson, E. Harper, J. Q. Denaid, B. Layntr, J. P. Peu'v, W. Cooper, \V. jj. Bidwill, Jt. J. Dagg and W. J. Welch. Finance: Messrs J. D. Cruickshank, 0. C. Cooper, J. B. Moodie, D. Caselberg, G. G. Summerell. Luncheon: Messrs D. Caselberg, T. P. Lett, J. C. McKillop, A. J. Perry, <J. M-wris. Messrs W. L. Watson, G. bhavv, VV. M. Buick, Vv. Cooper. Pnnt.ng: Mettis G. C. fcuminuell and J. D. Lruukshank. Horticultural: Messrs E Haie, W. H. Jailcson, W. C. Davis, J. C. Alpass znd G. C. Summerell. Rain Fair: Messrs R. Cooper, J. Morris, W. D. W- tson, A. G. Pilmer and A. J. Stone-Wigg. On the motion of Mr Morris, Mes3rs Pilmer, Lett, W. Perry, A. J. Percy and J. Moiris were appointed a committee to take steps to in-i crease the Association's membership by whatever means it decided upon. On the motion of Mr Lett, it was resolved not to hold a horse parade this year, on account of the lack of interest that is displayed by hyrsebreeders in it. The following canvassing committees were set up:—Wellington, Messrs J. D. Cruickshank, G. C. Summerell, W. E. Bidwill, J. B. Moodie, I. Sykes, D. McGregor, junr., W. Perry and H. Morrison; Master ton, Messrs VV. Welch, J. Morris, H. Morrison, T. P. Lett, A. J. Percy, R. J. Dagg, J. C. McKillop, C. F. Valiance, D. McGregor, senr., and J. Strang; Lower Valley, Messrs J. McMaster, F. E. Perry, R. Smith, A. Donald, T. Cameron; Featherston, Messrs Q. Donald, H. A. Matthews, A. Tocher: Grcytown North," Messrs Hugh Morrison, T. lngley; Kahautara, Mr J. 0. Bidwill; Bush Districts, district representatives; Whareama, Messrs H. Morrison, H. 0. Toogood, A. G. Pilmer, A. J. Speedy. The following new members wore elected:—Messrs 0. Bunny, P. Cooper, A. Grant, '». Thompson, J. Kirg, G. H. Yat?s, H. P. Perry, ii. 11. Aitken. The following resignations were accepted:—Messrs W. McPhee, W. Harris, T. Wiigley and C. Bluett. The question of Show dates was discussed at some lentrth. Eventually a sub-committee was appointed to report on the matter to a special meeting on Tuesday week.
