AGAINST A STRIKE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WESTPORT, August 6. At a meeting of the Denniston Miners' Union, to-night, a motion to declare a strike, owing to the dismissal of one of the men, was lost by 175 votes. The voting was:—For the strike, 83; against, 258; majority against, 175.
