AFFAIRS IN TURKEY.
ATTEMPT TO ASSASSINATE THE SULTAN. Received August 6, 10.15 p.m. GENEVA, August 6. The leadc* of the "Young TurkeyParty," at Geneva, has received advices from Constantinople to the effect that a minor palace official, on Monday, rushed past the guards and tried to stab the Sultan in the breast in his private aoartments The Sultan's coat of mail deflected the blow, which caused only a severe bruise. The assassin was arrested. A quantity of gold ar.d notes was found in his baggage.
