NOTICE OF POLL. j BOROUGH OF MASTERTON. Tho Municipal Corporations Act; The Public Health Act; The Local Bodies Loans Act; and the Local Elections Act. -frOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN I.—That a Poll of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Mastorton will be taken on MONDAY the SEVENTEENTH day of AUGUST 1908 on the following proposals of the Masterton Borough Council:— \ (a) To borrow FORTY THOUSAND POUNDS (.£40,000,) for tho purpose of Drainage and Sanitation Extension. (b) To borrow SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS (.£7,500) for the purpose of purchasing the fee simple of the lands of the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association. 2.—That the situations of the Polling Booths are as follows: Description The Drill Hall The Fire Brigade Station Hall Street Queen Street, Kuripuni. and that such Polling Booths will be open between the hours of nine o'clock in tho forenoon and seven o'clock in the af ter3.—The form of voting papers will be as follows: BOROUGH OF MASTERTON. Proposal to raise a Special Loan of FORTY THOUSAND POUNDS (,£40,000) under the Local Bodies Loans Act 1901 upon which a, Poll will be taken upon tho seventeenth dav of August 1908 for the purpose of DRAINAGE AND SANITATION EXTENSION - TO BE APPLIED in paying off the existing Drainage Loans of £B,OOO and .£5,000 respectively, and tho balance .£27,000 to be applied in extending and improving the Drainage and Sanitation "Works of the Borough, so that the rate to bo levied shall bo a uniform rate extonding over tho whole Borough. The proposal to be conditional on the Government, agreeing to advance the money for the | work, and tho Poll to be taken subject to such condition and to make an annually recurring special rate of "98 pence in the £on the unimproved value of all rateable property within the said Borough as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such loan. The whole of the loan is to be repayable on the 31st day of March 1960. It is proposed to pay out of the loan monies the cost of raising the loan and tho first year's interest of the loan during tho construction of the works. 1. | I vote FOR the Proposal. 2. | I vote AGAINST the Proposal. N.B. —Tho voter must erase the line marked 2 if he wishes to vote for the proposal or line 1 if he wishes to vote against it. The voter shall erase one or other of the said lines, and his vote shall be deemed to be given according to the one of tho said lines he leaves unerased. The voting paper is to be folded up so that its contents cannot be seen, and, the official mark on the back having been shown to the Returning Officer, the voting paper is to bo put into th 9 ballot box by the voter. The voting paper is not to be taken out of the polling booth. BOROUGH 'OF MASTERTON. Proposal to raise a special loan of SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS (£7,500) under the Local Bodies Loans Act 1901 upon which a Poll will be taken upon the seventeenth day of August 1908 f~r the 1 purpose of PURCHASING THE FEE SIMPLE OF THE LANDS OF THE MASTERTON AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION abutting on Dixon and Herbert Street containing thereabouts 33 acres 2 roods 0 porches and IMPROVING THE SAME and to make an annually recurring special rate of "22 ponce in the £ on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the said Borough as Security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such loan. The whole of the loan is to be repayable on the 31st day of March, 1950. It is not proposed to pay out of the loan monies the cost of raising tho loan or the first year's interest. 1. | I vote FOR the Proposal. 2. | I vote AGAINST the Proposal.
