LONDON, July 31. Bradford Tops.—Business is at a standstill. Quotations—4o's, 10£ d; 46's, 12d; common 60's, 22d; super 60's, 23d;,64'5, 24d. The 'London Sales—Market animated. Prices for all sorts are very firm. The following were average prices realised for fleece portions of the clips riamed:—"Tiraumea," 6Jd; Orui, B|d.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, report having received the following cable messages from their London House under date of the 30th inst.:—Butter—The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ending 25th inst. amounted to 100,000 cwt, as compared with 99,000 for the corresponding week of 1907; showing an increase of 1,000 cwt. The market for Danish butter is weak, and the utmost value is 120s per cwt Prices for New Zealand dug er tre unchanged, anu we quote from 114s to 116s. There id no Australian butter on the market. Owing t"> heavy arrivals from the Continent and Siberia the market is lower by 2s to 4s per cwt. We expect a further decline in prices. Believe *hat the present state of things will not last and that recovery is probable in a few weeks. Frozen meat—There is a fair demand for lamb. Demand for mutton runs principally in finest qualities. The market for beef is firm, but there is not much demand. Our quotations for New Zealand descriptions are:—Prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury, heavy, 3§d; light, 4£d; prime crossbred mutton, North Island, heavy, 3d; light, 3|d; prime crossbred lamb Canterbury, heavy, s|d; light, s£d; prime crossbred lamb, North Island, heavy, 5Jd; light, 5Jd; prime ox beef, fores, 21d; hinds, 3£d. The hot weather prevailing is limiting business. Sheepskins—Combing merino—Since our last advices prices are higher by id per lb. Other descriptions are unchanged. Tallow—Poor demand for tallow at unchanged prices. There will be no public sales of tallow next week
