MAORI ENTERTAINERS.

There was another large attendance at the Town Hall on Saturday evening, when a vtfry attractive programme was presented by the Maori Entertainers, many items being accorded well-deserved encores. The entertainment opened with a tableaux scene of Ohinemutu Pa, and was followed by a male quartette "Nellie was a Lady." The poi games and hakas were received with loud applause. The singing, etc., right through was exceptionally good. Oth 2T items on the programme deserving of special mention were:— Songs by Miss Wiki Butt, Mr Tango I Kokiri and choir, part song by Messrs Tame Petane, Tango Kokiri, Rua Tawhai, J. Rohui, Dick Kakuere and Rev. F. A. Bennett, part song "Farewell," by the Company and choruses by '.he Choir. A sacred concert was given last evening in the Town Hall, which was packed. An excellent programme was submitted, the principal items being as follows:—male- quartette, "Come unto Me"; song, "Ora Pro Nobis," Miss Wiki Butt; anthem, "To Thee, Great Lord," Choir; male quartette, "He Arose"; male quartette, "Vote an you pray"; song, "I'm sailing for God's Country tonight"; Mr Tango Kokiri; sacred part song, "Sweet Sabbath Eve," Choir; Himene—to Maori chantChoir. During the evening a short address was given'by the -Rev. F. A. Bennett, being an appeal to the pakeha to help the Maori. On account of the large attendance at the Town Hall, Captain Dixon had eight members of the Fire Police, in nddition to himself, on duty, and every precaution was taken in regard to an outbreak of fire, accidents, etc.
