MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.

The monthly meeting of the Mauricevillo County Council was held on Saturday iast. There Wi?re present—Crs F. W. H. Kummer {.•hairman), H. J. Dagg, J. F. HeckLi r, and J. ti. Perry. Apologies for absence were received from Crs C Churchill Jackson and C. A. Wall. The Chuirmin reported the results of his inquiries re procuring a suppi/ of broken metal from outside fcho district, and it was resolved to order 1,000 cubic yards, provided the cost ia mo.ierate, also tint in the event of the metal being got—3oo yards lo deposited at Rlaur'.cevilia and 700 yards at Mangamahoe. Mr T. T. Hillas attended the meet' ing regaining the cutting of a drain os>Me road reserve at his frontage anHhat of Misa Bruce. It was arranged that the Chairman should inspect the work an J see whither it is such a3 the Council can aisist. The Chairman was also appointed t>m2et the District Railway Engineer regarding the shifting of the fence at Brodersen's lioad. Cr Heckler was appoints to deal with repairs to Mangaoranga Bridge, and get a notice affixed warning users that the bridge is dangerous. It was resolved to strike a general rate of seven-eighths of a penny in the pound for the current year. Accounts amounting to £320 4s Id were passed for payment.
