STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows. —At oar sale at Pahiatua both sheep and cattle were well represented. The tone of the sheep market improved, and sales showed an advance. At Masterton yesterday the yarding in sheep was good in every respect, one line of ewes in particular on account of Mr Johnston, of Bideforcf, bringing the satisfactory figure of 17s Id for 330, being so far the'record price of the season. All other lines of good ewes, wethers and strong hoggets found a ready market at slightly advanced rates. One small lot of fat ewes and wethers, extra prime, also topped the market at 16s 9d. A few useful lots of store cattle of good quality found a ready sale. At Pahiatua px'ices for ewes in lamb, hoggets and young cattle improved. At Masterton very prime fat ewes and wethers made lfis 9d,medium fat ewes 12s (id, ewes in lamb (special) 16s 9d, 2 and 4-tooth ewes in lamb 15s 2d, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 13s to 14s, medium and poor ewes 10s, 9s, down to 6s, hoggets 9s, 8s 9d, Bs, 7s 6d, 6s, 5s Bd, store wethers (good condition) 14s, store ewes and small wethers 10s, 20-month good-conditioned steers 425, calves 13s, store cows 255, porkers 26s to 30s.
