BY TELEGRAPH- —PRESS ASSOCIATION. INVERCARGILL, July 29. A man named James Hancock, who wa3 in the habit of sleeping alone in a t'uit at Kapnlcu, where he worked, having intorest in a flaxmill, was found dead in his bed this morn • iner, with the top of his head blown off an i a double-barrel 2d gun beside him. Ihe man had suffered from hip disease, and it is understood that he had recently had a depressing report from the doctor. The deceased, who was about 33 years of age, had invented and made an electric weed eradicator, and had just completed a successful trial of it. The police are making enquiries.
