ATTEMPT TO ROB A STRONGROOM.
A THIEF TRAPPED. A PECULIAR INCIDENT. Received July 27, 11.15 a.m. PERTH, July 27. An attempt.'o rob the strongroom at Drew, Robinson and Company's premises, Albany, was discovered in a peculiar manner. The firms's branch at Wagin, 140 miles from Albany, was destroyed by fire, and a partner in the firm went to the Albany office to find out particulars of the insurances. On opening the door of the strongroom a man fell into his arms, in an an:onscious condition. The man proved to be one of the employees. He ha'. 1 , succeeded in removing the flra-proof lining of the dcor, but the strong outside door still barred his way to freedom. On recovering, with the aid of restoratives, he stated that he had bought a screw wrench the night before, and was placing it in the Strongroom when he' was locked in. The man was arrested. But for the timely arrival of his. rescuer he would have died of suffocation,
