BEAUREPAIKE DEFEATED. LONDON, July 24. H. Taylor (England) beat Beaurepaire (Victoria) by thirty yards in the semi-final of the 1,500 metres (1,639.5 yards) swimming race, in 22min 54sec. Received July 27, 12.41 a.m. ' LONDON, July 26. In the final of the 1,500 metres swimming, Taylor finished four yards ahead of Battersby, who defeated Beaurepaire by a yard. They swam shoulder to shoulder throughout the race.
