Mr W. Nosworthy, of Mount Somers, has announced that he will contest the Ashburton Beat at the general election. The death is reported of another o\i West Coast pioneer, Mr Alfred Masters, late of Melbourne, and for many years well-known at Greymouth in connection with the firm of Forsyth and Masters. At the Methodist Church, Carterton, yesterday, Mr Arthur Hoar, of Mastsrton, youngest sr.n of Mr M. Hoar, of Wellington, was married to Miss Matilda Hansen, eldest daughter o£ Mr W. Hansen, of Ca!t;rton. The bride wore a dress of creme taffe:a, draped with lace and accordeon pleated chiffon. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of jonquils, asparaßUi and maidenhair fern. Miss Alma Hansen (dister of the bri'le) and Miss Gertie Hoar (sister -of the bridegroom) were the bridesmaids. Messrs H. Andrews, of Carterton, was best man, and H. Lowe, of Wellington, groomsman. After the recaption at the home of the bride's parents Mr and Mrs Hoar left for Masterton, where they will reside.
