ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

'the young man, John Trigance, who was injured by falling over a cliff at Purau, on Friday, died last evening in the Lyttelton casualty ward. It was at first hoped he would recover, but he took an unfavourable turn on Monday, and got worse and died about 5.50 p.m. ytsturday. An inquest was heir] at the hospital, this morning, before Mr H. W. Bishop, District Coroner, and a jury, into the circumstances connected with the death of the litiL- girl Gibbons, who was severely burned at St. Albans on Wednesday. After hearing the evidence of Dr. Crooke and of the child's mother, in which the facts were similar to those already published, a verdict of accidentally burned was returned.
