The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows: —At Pahiatua, on Tuesday, entries, both in sheep and cattle, were limited, but those panned were of good quality, which fact enabled us to do good business, rates showing no a Jvance. At Masterton, jester Jay, entries, both in sheep and cattle, were well up to advertised lakon all round the class was good, and for all Btronir lambs, forward withers, good conditioned uwes, in lamb bidding was spirited, the only lines bek-g neglected were poor aged ewes. In mutton, rates showed no advance. In cattle, beef was represented by both ox and cow, but in case bidding failed to reach owners' values. All good class young steers penned found a ready sala. At Pahiatua, store wethers made 12s; ewes in lamb, good, 10a to lis; lambs, meuium, (is 6d. At Masterton, medium fat ewes, 12s; forward e.ves, 8s to 10:; strong ewes in lamb, IIJj; otners, 8s to 7s; culls. 5* 6d; store wether?, mad j 13a 10a; very forward wethers, up to J4s 61; lambs, 9s 6d to 9s lOd; good s'or2s, 8s 9d; medium, o-< b\i to Cs 6d; 18month steers, go< d class 47s 6d; best .ye.u lings, 295; dairy heifers, best, bOs.
