OREGON PINE.
IMPORT DUTY URGED. BY TELEGRAPH —FREES ASSOCIATION. GREYMOUTII, July 14. A large and enthusiastic meeting of the citizens of the town and district was held last evening, the Mayor in the chair. Resolutions were passed urgh.g en the Government the necessity of imposing; an import duty on Oregon pine. The meeting was representative of the whole district, and very great dissatisfaction was expressed at the action of the Government in not protecting the industry. Petitions are to be sent to the Cabinet from the wharf labourer.% sawmiller;-, and utizens in protest, and delegates have been appointed to proceed to Wellington to br'ng the matter under the notice of the Government:.
