Ha traversed Europe, America, .Auitralia, and China, and got into trouble during the Russo-Japanese war, narrowly escaping being shot as a spy. The excitement caused by this incident caused his wife to suffer from a nervous attack, which finally .•resulted last year in her death. Haushan's most trying time was in Arizona, where he saw no house for . .six days, and had n.i water for four.
