FREE NURSING FOR THE POOR.
The proposition of the Ladies' Branch (Masterton division) of St. John Ambulance Brigade to secure a District Nurse to work among the sick poor of the town a*ul district is one that should receive tlid support of the whole community. There ate two nurses working in Wellington under the auspices of the ladies' branch of the Brigade, and they do excellent work among the :joor there. The members of the Home Nursing Guild, to the number of thirty-two, will assist the Nurse in her work, and this assistance, which is to be given, of course, gratuitously, as will the service of the Nurse herself, would, undoubtedly, be welcome in many homes in the district. The
funds for the nurse's salary are to be raised by public subscription, the Brigade proposing also to hold a monster bazaar in aid of the project. The Men's Division intends assisting the movement by every means in its power.
