SOUTHERN EXPRESS TRAIN STOPPED. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, July 8. Owing to several wash-outs north of Pukeuri Junction, the express train North will be unable to get beyond Oamaru to-day. The through train from Christchurch will probably only get to Timaru. TIMARU, JulyS. The railway south of Timaru is submerged for miles. There are wash-outs in every creek. The train service to the South is entirely sus pended, and all the roads are also flooded, the passenger and mail service is interrupted. The Waimate branch of tho service is also suspended. The first express from the North came through safely, but stopped at Timaru. No damage Id the line is reported. CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. Rain is again falling in torrents tonight, and there is every prospect of further floods.
POUR FEET OF SNOW AT NASEBY. DUNEDIN, July 8. Very heavy rain fell throughout the night, and to-day is wintry. Reports from Naseby state that there is four feet of 9now on the ground, and it is still snowing.
