CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor)

Sir,—A paragraph appeared in your valuable columns about three weeks ago stating that a poor man was fined for driving cows on the footpath in Pownall street. The road is not fit for stock to walk on, ar.d I have seen three presons trying to keep stock on the traffic road, but they have failfd. Now, Sir, in Bannister street, Dixon street and Church street, we have good roads, but one person regularly in fine weather leads his horse on the footpaths to the inconvenience of pedestrians. Where is the Inspector that he can never see this? Is it because the offender is a J.P. that he is so privileged? I am, etc., A CITIZEN.
