EXTENDING THE GAS SERVICE.
MANAGER'S REPORT,
At a meeting of thejGaa Committee of the Masterton Borough Council the Gas Manager submitted the following report:—Re additional street lamps authorised by the Council, I would recommend that the following work in connection with the same be proceeded with, viz.:—A. Extend main from Lincoln road along Bentley street a distance of 12| chains more or less in ljin wrought-iron pipes, erect lamp-post, lay services to any house along the line of main whpre gas is applied for. ±5. Extend main from the 4in c.i. main in Queen street along Cannon street to Dixon street, then along Dixon street to the intersection of Herbert street, erect two lamp posts and lay any servicers to private dwellings that may be applied for. C. Extend 3in cast iron main from the corner of Chapel street along Hope street a distance of four chains more or less, thence a further distance of four chains, J Jin wrought-iron pipe, erect lamp-post, and lay services to Borough stables, and other private dwellings. D. Extend a service in Chapel street to supply lamp to be erected about midway between Renall and Cornwall streets a distance of ten chains more or less, lin wrought-iron pipe. It was resolved that the Manager's report te adopted, and that the, tr.nching be let by public tender.
