ANGLO-CONGOLESE FRONTIER.
COMMISSION'S REPORT. Received July 4, 4.15 p.m. LONDON, July 4. The Anglo-Congolese Frontier Commission has completed its survey, showing a mistake m maps whereon the Anglo-Congolese Convention of 1894, was based, and which placed the thirtieth Meridian forming the frontier twenty miles west of the true position. Hence, a strip 120 miles long, Supposed to be British territory, is now provisionally regarded as neutral. Britain upholds the Convention. Should the strip be added to the Congo territory Britain will be denrived of access to Lake Albert Edward. The same report mentions that there is considerable activity on the Kilo Goldfields inside of the Congo border, which was largely worked by Australians first. Two lot 3 of gold have been obtained valued at £70,000 sterling.
