RACING.
The Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club will hold the first race meeting of the present season on their racecourse, at Miramar, on Saturday, August 22nd next. The Club propose holding race meetings every month during the coming season.
Received July 5, 4.30 p.m.' MELBOURNE, July 5. The Grand National Hurdles resulted as follows:—Lady Quiz 1, Mercury 2, Wollara 3. Waratah was a non-starter. The race was run in thick, misty rain. Lady Quiz was first away, and practically maintained command all the way, winning by four lengths, a length I etvveen second and third horses, lime, smin 55Jsec.
