FARMERS GIVING UP CROPPING. BY TELEaBAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION . AUCKLAND, July 3. "The farm labour difficulty has led to a number of farmers giving: up growing crops in Auckland," declared Mr J. Massey (President of the Auckland A. and P. Association), at a meeting this afternoon. "I have given up cropping fir that reason." Another speaker (Mr Westney) said that up till a year ago he had been growing wheat, but owing to the scarcity of farm labour and the outrageous wage 9 demanded at harvest time, he had given it up. Other speakers also made reference to labour difficulties.
