A MISSING MAN.
GISBORNE, July 2. The fishing' boat Jane arrived at Auckland last evening. Captain Must, in a statement giving further particulars of the loss of Christie, the owner of the boat, said that on June 17th Christie packed up his clothes and said he was going ashore. Must told him he could not, a3 lie had lost the dinghy. Christie wanted him to run the vessel on tne rocks. Whilst Must was resting, Christie, having taken all the tobacco, and turned the water cask bung down, disappeared. Must was four days at sea without water. He says Christie had been on a drinking bout at Auckland, and during the voyage developed hallucinations.
