In the course of an interview, Harding, captain of the English team, declined to express any opinion as to the alleged rough play in the test match. He remarked that the tour had been badly arranged, resulting in the team being compelled to do mimh more travelling than necessary. Perfect weather prevails, and there is every prospect of a record gate to-morrow. \ I WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION. The Wairarapa Thursday Senior reps, will play the Bush, at Eketahuna. on Thursday. The are tha teams:—Wairarapa— McGuinness, Killoo; Cornish, Whana, McKinnon, G. Hall, Tidswell, Kilminster, Tocker, E.' Fairbrother, Phelps, Whyte, J.' Crawley, Tait. Emergencies: backs, F. Fairbrother and Pulsford; forward, C. Fairbrother. The Bush team will be represented as follows:—Full-back, E. Main (Hukanui); three-quarters, E. Twentyman (Hukanui), Collins (Pahiatua), White (Eketahuna); five-eights, Kinzett (Alfredton), P. Svvainson ,(Pahiatua); half, Malmanche (Mangatainoka); forwards, Cowan (Mangatainoka), R. J. Smith (Konini), Harvey (Hukanui), G. Smith (Konini), R. Cavanagh (Hamua), Benge (Hukanui) and W. Anderson (Eketahuna). Emergencies —Backs, Thompson (Nireaha), E. Bain (Konini), Grace (Mangatainoka); forwards, Verry (Konini), Henry (Hukanui), Manihera (Hamua). Mr F.D. Pelling will act as referee.
The following is the Carterton Rover Junior team to play against Featherston, at Carterton, to-mor-row:—Williams, iKrutson, Hulley, Woods (2), Canton, Turley, Harbott, Bowles, Ireland, Lugg, Banks, Abbott, Paget and Rzoska. An effort is to be made to arrange a representative match between the Saturday third-class team and the Thursday Juniors. The Bush Seniors and Wairarapa will probably meet on July 11th, the Saturday previous to the Wairarapa team leaving on their southern tour. The Wairarapa team will be picked next Saturday,' and unless anyone falls off considerably in the Bush match, this vvi.ll be the team to tour. The team will consist of 19 or 20 players. A match, in which considerable interest is being taken is that between Masterton and Red Star Seniors, will be played on the Showgrounds on Saturday. The result of the match will decide the runners-up of the Senior competition for this season.
