CANADIAN SERVICE RIFLE.

OTTAWA, June 26,

The Hon. Sir F. W. Borden, Canadian Minister of Militia Defence, reports that the use of the Ross rifle has resulted in a great improvement in the musketry practice of the militia. He intends to arm the whole Canadian militia with the Ross instead of the Lee-Enfield rifle.

The Ross rifle was invented by Sir Charles Koss, at one time a lieutenant in the Seaforth Highlanders.
