WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
THE MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the District Land Board was held on Thursday, when there were present:—Mr James Mackenzie (Commissioner for Crown Lands) presiding, Messrs A. Reeco, J. Dawson, J. M. A'Court, and 0. J. Canton.
The titles of the following persons were approved:— H. J. L. Jaggard, N. Small, jnr., J. F. Casey, R. F. Perham, M. Ferrick, F. Stack, R. ii. Owens and P. Hallida.y. The lands to which these titles apply are situated at Ohinewairua, Mount Cerberus, HauCapu, Puketoi and Makuri.
The following transfers were approved':— Mangahao district, Mrs E. Morgan to J. 1. Rawlings; Kaitawa district, F. P. Mason to C. P. Knight and G. V. Kemsley; Mangaone district, J. F. Heckler to W. 11. Heckler.
A report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger on the timber cut and removed from the forest reserve adjoining section 3, block 1, Tiffin, by the manager of Booth's estate, and it was resolved to charge a royalty of Is Cd per 100 s.f. on 52,546 superficial feet. Mr F. L. Fulchtr, lessee of .section 15, Pongaroa Village Settlement, applied for permission to grant Mr W. H. Ward and Miss 0. Ward a right-of-way o\er a portion of the section, so that they may have access from and to their respective sections through section 15.—1t was resolved t lat although there appears to be no objection to the parties entering into a private arrangement for such rights-of-way as may be required by them, it is inadvisable for the Board to take any cognisance of the same or to give any consent to it, as to do so might give or confirm future righto by "user" over the land. It was resolved to accept Mr R. Parker's offer to sow about six or seven acres of burnt area on section 13, block 11, Makuri, on condition that he be allowed to graze such area at ar. annual rental of ill per annum under a year-to-year lease. The sowing to be done to the satisfaction of the Crown Lands Ranger and under his supervision. Messrs M. A. and A. C. Herbert applied for the grazing rights over parts 1, 2 and 3 of section 189, block 11, Mount Cerberus, and it was resolved that the application should not be entertained.
A leport was received from the Crown Lands Rai ger on Messrs Gardner and Yeoman's nppication for the right to mill the timber on sections 4 and 5, block 3, Puketoi, anil it was resolved to obtain a further report un the matter.
Miss M. L. lorns applied to transfer a half share of section 2, Llock 4 Hnurangi, to her brother Mr W. A. lorns, to enable the latter to fulfJ the residence conditions, as owing to the senous illness of her mother, she is now unable to go snd live on the land. It was renolved that owing to the unforseen circumstances tnder which Miss lorns is now placed, to recommend the transfer for approval. With reference to the proposed transfer of section 13, block 13, Huangarua, from Mr E. G. Harris to Mr T. F. Smith, it was resolved to approve of the declaration being amended in terms of section 81 (1) of the Land Act, 18<J2, to suit the circumstances of the cas9 owing to Mr Smith's death.
Mr T. O'Kcsffe applied to transfer section 49, Hukar.ui Village Settlement, to Mrs M. J. Smith. It was resolved to approve the application on compliance with the terms of section 147 of the Land Act, 1892. The Mauticeville Countv Council forwarded schedules with proposals for expenditure of thirds. The Board approve 1 of tnose propo3ah marked as "in ordar." A-riount approved, £H 6? 3d,
