His Excellency the Governor will attend the match and will also be present atiithe dinner to be given to the Anglo-Welsh team in the evening- , Colmans place in the New Zealand fifteen is to be taker, by Fryer, of Canterbury, who is to play wing three-quarter, Wallace playing fullback. , The following are the teams:— ' ANGLO-WELSH. Full-back: Jackett. Three-quarters: McEvedy, Ponty Jones, Vassall, J. L. Williams. Halves: Tuan Jones and W. Morgan. Forwards: Harding,, Gibbs, Dibble, E. Morgan, Smith, Archer, Down, Ritson. NEW ZEALAND. Full-back: Wallace (Wellington). Three-quarters: Fryer (Canterbury), Mitchinson (Wellington), Cameron (Taranaki). Five-eighths: J Hunter (captain, Taranaki) and Gray (Canterbury) Half-back: Byrne (Canterbury). Forwards—Front rankers: Ready (Wellington) and Murray (Wanganui); pivot: Cunningham (Auckland); supports: "Ranji" Wilson (Wellington) and Francis (Auckland); rear-ranker 3: Seelirtg (Auckland) and Patterson (Otago) Wing forward: Hamilton (Southland). Jackson, the member of the Anglo-Welsh football team, who has been recalled by the English Rugby Union to answer charges of professionalism, left for # England, via Sydney, by the Maitai to-day. The secretary «'f the Wairarapa Union forwarded to the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union, on Thursday night, a letter received from Sergeant Miller, of Masterton. The la ter stated that on the occasion of tho Wairarapa-Britain match he was requested to shift a man from a reserved seat on tne stand. The rnan in question had given him jiotice that he was t?oing to bring an action a/dinat him for £2OO for assault, etc. H j would like to know if the -New Zealand ".Rugby Union would bear the cost incurred in defending the action. The secretary of the Wairarapa Union pointed out that a seat in the front of the stand had been reserved for the extra members of the British team and for the accommodation of Rugby Union officials, 6ta. Several spectators per-
siatod in occupying these seats, and after they had been requested to vacate the seats he asked Sergeant Miller to have eighteen of them shifted. It was resolved that a reply be sent that the New Zealand Union would bear the necessary expense in defending the action. —"Dominion."
The following team has been , selected to represent the New Zealand University in several matches in Sydney:—Backs: Wilson (Auckland), Hitchings (Wellington), Gray (Auckland), Rhodes (Canterbury), O'Leary (Wellington), Young (Canterbury), Dansey, Nuku, Lomas, and Ongley (Otago). Forwards: Wilson (Canterbury), Fenwick, Lang, Tansey, and Potter (Otago), De la Mare and Lynch (Wellington), Collins, Grace, and Wigley (Canterbury). The team left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Sydney. Rhodes (Canterbury College) is a member of the Red Star Club (Masterton). He played two seasons ago with the Juniors, and on Saturday last played for Red Star Seniors against Carterton Seniors. The Inter-laland University match, played yesterday, at Wellington, was won by the South Ilsarjd by 3 points to nil. Only one spell was played, during which the South Island were attacking continuously.
