MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

MEETING OF MANAGERS. _ A meeting of the Maaterton Techical School Managers was held last veiling. There were present Messrs . Feist (chairman), J, M. Coradine, J. B. Keith, E. H. Waddington and W. H. Jackson. Mr R. J. Foss was appointed to the position of instructor to the Civil Service class, a position recently resigned by Mr C. N. Haslam. There were two applications. ThR secretary and Mr Jackson were appointed a committee to report, at a future meeting, as to how the new regulations affected classes under the school's management. The report of the operations of the rfchool for the first term were read, the classes showing the following attendances:— Building construction, roll 6, average attendance 4; dressmaking, 21-8, ditto 9-6; ditto 16—5; woodworking, 14—10; plumbing, 10—6; commercial work, 22-20, ditto 30-23; signwriting, tf-fi; wood-carving, 9—6; drawing " "'itofirMife, 6—3; perspective, 6-3; -. The fees for the term' amounted to £53 10s, ordinary capitation to £45 173 3d, special capitation to £24 19s fid. Messrs Jackson and Corudine were appointed to inspect thg grounds surrounding the Seddon Memorial School, . and report to the next meeting of the Manjagars as to what steps should be taken regarding fencing, asphalting ct:. It was resolved to take out a policy for £2,000 insurance against lire in connection with the new school, and to defer the question of insuring the work-room at the rear until a report on the matter had been received.'
