DARING BANK THEFT.
One of tha most daring bank 10b--3biJi'io3 in the annals of Kansas, the flcene of dozens of "hold-ups" by ifch'e Dal ton, Starr, and other gangs of •outlaws, was effected on April: 17th, •«!; tin Citizens' State Bank at Chautauqua. A few minutes after the bank ■op 'jnod, two well-dressed men entered I;]i3 premises and noncholantly made •their way to the cashier's window, nod commanded the cashier and a cus t'omo: who was talking to him to 'ithr.i,v u» their hands. Ons of the men being well-known tin th; town, the cashier treated the 6ft.nand a3 a joke. While he was still laughing the rubbers produced revolver.! and forced both cashier and customer into a vault, which they belted. Then they drew the blinds iacing the street, closing the doors an] ransacked the bank, clearing in cash. 4pth this money in a hind-bag tin :men calmly walkei out, being, igreatsd jocularly by several acquaintances, and mounted their horaes and tbds off. Half an hour later the imprisoned official anJ his companion were released, and posses were sent .out in pursuit of the robbers. \
