DETERMINED SUICIDE
Received June 24, 10 a.in. MELBOURNE, June 24. Hayes, manager of a skating rinlc at Bairnsdale, committed suicide. He shot himself four times, then walked half a mile, and jumped into the river. DEATH OF A CENTENARIAN. Received June 24, 10 a.m. SYDNEY, June 24. A woman, named Ann Ross, died at Mittagong, aged one hundred. FEDERAL REVENUE. Received June 24, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, June 24. The Federal Treasurer, Sir W. Lyne, expects the Federal revenue for tne year will be over two millions mora than last year. EXPLORING PAPUA. Received June 24, 10 a.m. SYDNEY, June 24. Mr Donald Mackay, brother of Colonel Mackay, has organised an expedition to explore the interior of Papua. < TRAINS IN COLLISION. Received June 25, 12.15 a.rti. BRISBANE. June 24. A train, containing Wirth's circus, collided with a goods train near Maryborough. Mr Fitzgerald, a Sydney Legislative Councillor, and another Sydney visitor wore injured, but not seriously. Tne fireman of the circus train had an arm fractured. . It is believed that the driver dieregarded the signals.
IMPORTATION OF SOUTH AFRICAN FODDER.

In regard to the difficulty arising in connection With the importation of Soutii African fodder, it is proposal tfiat hay should be cat into chaff and sterilised. About 100 tons of hay lying about the wharf will be admitted if the agents agree to such sterilising process.
