Mr D. O'Connor, of Greytowrr, who has been on a trip to the 0 Id Country, returned home on Tuesd&y night.

The death occurred on Tuesday mornine of Mr Harry Owen, father of Mr Charles Owen, of Pine Street. The late Mr Owen had only been ailing for a few days. The deceased, was 87 years of age, and was a na-i , tive of Birmingham, England. Hehad been a resident of Masterton for' about two years, having arrived in New Zaaland in 1870. A widow and' three sons are left to mourn their loss. The funeral will leave theresidence of Mr C. Owen, 115 Pine> Street, at 3.30 p.m. to-morrow. At the dairy conference at Paln:.erston, the New " Zealand Dairy Association placed on record its senses; of the gre it loss it had sustained in the death of Mr T. L. Joll. Reference was made to th° invaluahle services the late Mr Joll had rendered to the association far many years as a member of the executive. She wasattended by her two sisters, Misses Mary and Clara Johnson as bridesmaids, who wore dresses of whiteembroidered muslin, trimmed with valenciennes lace, with hats of pink * silk and saohes to match. The bridewas given away by her father, and " Mr A. Teal was man. Theceremony was performed by the Rev.. R. Young, vicar of St. Mark's.
