VALEDICTORY.
FAREWELL TO MR B. C. ROBBINS. By Telegraph —Press Association. HAWERA, June 23. Mr B. C. Robbing who during- the past twenty-five years has been a le.sident of Hawer;-, and has taken a leading part in the civil life of the town, including that of Mayor, was this afternoon farewelled by the citizens proir to his departure to Wellington, where he will in future reside. The Mayor (Mr H. W. Sutton) presided, and with the other speakers referred eulogistically to the many good services Mr Robbing had rendered the Borough. Mr Robbins was also presented with an address (accompanied by a purse of sovereigns), which expressed the appreciation of the citizens of his work aa a Borough Councillor. The Mayor, in particular, made mention of Mr Robbins' useful work in the interests of education. Mr Robbins also received a large framed photograph of the Borough Council while he was Mayor last year. The meeting concluded with cheers for Mr and Mrs Robbins.
