BY TELIMUAPH —VttESS ASSOCIATION* , HASTINGS, June 22. A rumour has been current from a source which gives tho statement the imprint of truth, that Mr A. Dillon, the Hawke's Bay member, will be raised to the Upper House, and the Government choiro will fall on Mr W. H. .lull, of Waipawa, as the Government candidate for the seat. If the statement is true, a new complexion is thrown on the political aspect, and leaves the following candidates in the field:-Sir W. R.. Russell, Messrs G. Spencer Clapham, T, J. Thompson, H. Jan Simpson, W. H. Jull.
