A BY-ELECTION,
CONSERVATIVE VICTORY. Received June 22, 8.25 a.m. LONDON, June 21. The by-election for the Pudsey Division of Yorkshire, to fill the vacancy due to Mr Whiteley's retirement, resulted: — Mr Oddy, Conservative 5,444 Mr Ogden, Radical 5,331 Mr Benson, Labour 1,291 Mr Oddy attributes his victory to the feeling against the Government on the fiscal reform and the education questions and to general dissatisfaction with the Government.
