WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Company, Ltd., eport as follows regarding Friday's gale:—We held our fortnightly sale \on Friday, offering 25 bales wool, 1,500 skins, 400 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool— Crutcliing* are beginning to come into the market and many bales wero offered to-day. They met with good demand, considering market conditions. We quote:—Medium crossbred, 8d to 4|d; inferior, 2d to 3d; .lambs wool, 4£d to sd; pieces and locks, Id to 2d; good crutchings, 4rl to 4£d; medium crutchings, yd to 4d; seedy and inferior, ljd to 2Jd. Skins Steady. We quote—Fine crossbreds, 4d to sd; crossbred, 3d to 4Jd; dead skins, 2d to 3d; dead hoggets, ljd to 2£d; dry pelts, Id toljd; ambskins, 3d to 4Jd; green pelts, s to 3s; green lambs woolly, 2s to ■3s; green lambs, pelts, 2s to Is 9d. Tallow—Steadv. Parcels in shipping order, £22. Tins, £lB to £2O 10s. Rough fat, £lO to £l3. Horsehair—--—&r bls 3d per lb. Horns—ss to 17a Gd per hunderd. Cowtaila—ls 6d to Is B<l par dozen. Hides— We brought forward another good catalogue. La*t sale prices, however, were not maintained owing to oasier oversea markets. Heavies full one halfpenny, ■an 1 lights one farthing. We quote : Ux hides, heavy, 5Jd to 6d; ox hidaf, medium, 6d to 5Jd; ox hides, Jignt, 4d tO'BJd; cow hides., 3Jd to 4}i: cut and slippy hides, 2d to . 3jd; stag hides, 2id to 3&d; calf, badt, 4d lo 5Jd; bull hides 2d to 3d; ■calf cut and 'slippy 2d to 3d. Our next sale will bo held on Friday July The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report us follows: At our fortnightly said on Friday we offered a good cat ilogue to a more than average attendance of buyers. Only a few odd lots of wool were offered. Prices for wool, skins and tallow showed rone improvement ' on late rates. Hides were a little easier. We quote—Wool—Crutchings, seedy .and inftror, 12d to 3Jd , par lb; pieces, ljd to 3d per lb. ■Sheepskins—Crossbred, 3Jd to 4Jd per lb; lambs, 3d to 4&d per lb; pelts, 2d to 3d; damaged skins, Id to 23d per lb; green skins, 2s 6d to 3s Id euch. Hides— Light ox, 4d to 4Jd per lb; heavy medium, 4gd to 5d . per lb; calf, sound, to 5Jd per lb; faulty, hi to 3id per lb; .hides, c ; Tt and slippy, 2Jd to 3d. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report as follows: We held our fortnightly sale of wool, skina, hides and tallow, on Friday, there being a larger attendance of buyers present th-iti usual. We offered a fair quantity of crutchings, which met with a .goo I demand, prices showing considerable improvement. Tha demand for skina wag about" equal to last saU, but damp skina met with keen -cDinpstition, and sold well above recent quotations. Heavy hides were about on a par with last sale, but -lighter sorts showed a slight decline. •Calf skins wore firmer. Wo quote: Wool-Crossbred 38(1 to 4d, crutch-inw-i (seedy) 2}d to 3Jd, scoured sd.
