COMPETING FOR AMERICAN TRANSPORTATION. Received June 12, 10.35 p.m. OTTAWA, June 2. The Canadian Minister of Railways has announced that the Welland Canal will be deepened from 14 feet to 25 feet, to enable Canada to compete for American transportation.
