THE LICENSING BILL. MANY MEETINGS TN FAVOUR. Received June 10, 5.5 a.m. LONDON, June 9. Many meetings organised by Government machinery and by temperance societies, are being held in favour of the Licensing Bill. A select committee of the House of Commons has rejected a number of petitions in favour of the Bill, on the ground of numerous signatures being in the samo handwriting and other regularities. THE WORKERS AND SOCIALISM. MR KEIR BARDIE'S PREDICTION. Received June 10, 10.5 p.m. LONDON June 10. Mr Keir Hardie, speaking at Porthcawl, said that the Independent Labour Party had converted the working classes from Liberalism to Toryism. The second task v/ould be to make the workers Socialists. He predicted that within ten years Liberalism and Toryism would disappear Porthcawl is a Glamorganshire seaport and watering place six and aquarter mile" southwest of Bridgend.
